New Website

If you are here, you may have clicked on an old link that I've forgotten I put out there :).  If so, or if you didn't realize that I have discontinued this blog, I have a new portfolio style website here or you can go directly to my store to do some shopping.  See you there!!

I stink at blogging...

I am just not good at this whole blogging thing.  I'm not a fan of writing and I barely have enough time in the day to even think about things to blog about.  Therefore, I have decided to discontinue this blog.  I hope that you all will continue following me in other ways (that I am better at).  Here are a few sites that I am on if you are interested:

My Store (of course): http://www.fluentedesigns.artfire.com (If I feel the need to blog about anything I will do so here)

Also, you can always join my emailing list here to receive occassional newsletters.  These include upcoming events that I am participating in and other Fluente Designs news.  You can also receive special promotions this way :).

I think that is everything :).  I hope to see all of you on some of these other sites.  If not, thank you so much again for following me here and I apologize for being such a sucky blogger :(.

New Places to Follow Me!!

As if I'm not already trying to juggle enough, I've decided to give two new sites a try in order to gain more exposure for my jewelry.  You can now find me on LinkedIn (profile is under my name Jennifer Vogel) and Behance (link to the left).  I don't know a whole lot about either of these so if anyone can give me insight on the best way to use these resources I'd be so grateful!! :)  And please let me know if any of you are on these sites... I'd love to connect with you there as well!

Oh, and I'm also now on Pinterest (link in sidebar).  This one is more for my own pleasure, but I also incorporate some jewelry into my pins occassionally just because that is a big part of my pleasure :).

Earrings Galore

I have been on an earring kick lately, which is unusual because up until now most of my creations have been necklaces.  But seeing that I've made so many pairs over the last few weeks, I thought it would be fun to post some pics of earrings that I find interesting and unique!

Starting with this creative pair by Relydesign on Etsy.  These are actually made from paper... how fun and clever!!  And what colors for fall!

These simple, yet very eye-catching poppy earrings are made by in-sync design.  I love how modern they are!

I have been learning and beginning to use polymer clay lately, so I find these next pairs of earrings by beautyspot inspiring.  Lovely designs using polymer clay and wire.

And to finish off, I'd like to show you some of my newest earring creations :)!

Have a great Wednesday everyone!!

Life's Turning Points

I have been so happy with some of my latest creations and I really think it all has to do with my turning point that I spoke of earlier.  It is amazing how much of a change I've been through and I couldn't be more thrilled!  Here are a couple of pieces that I am particular proud of :)...

From Sail Into the Sunset

From Indie Jade

I would really love to hear about your ah-ha moment, if you have one.  I think we can all benefit from others stories and learn a lot from the hardships and/or good times that others have been through.  So let's all share :)!

The Crafty Curse

One thing about being crafty is that I always think I can make something myself.  I can find the most adorable things in the store or online (either mass produced or handmade by someone else) and before I buy them, the thought always pops into my head... "I bet I could make that!".  Now, this may not be a bad thing in some cases.  In fact I have probably saved myself tons of money by being so craft-arrogant.  Not only did I not buy the item when I saw it, but I have such little time to do anything that I never get around to actually trying to make it myself.
It also isn't a bad thing when I do get around to making an item and it actually turns out to be pretty decent!  Plus I can say that "I made that!".
But then there are those times when I try my hand at making something and I really have NO CLUE what I am doing.  So it usually ends up a disaster.  It's these times that I end up kicking myself for not buying it when I saw it and I blame The Crafty Curse!

I wish I had an example to show you, but I've destroyed all evidence of my craft projects gone wrong.  If I think of it I'll be sure to show you next time... as I'm sure there WILL be a next time!
